Myha’la Herrold's Met Gala 2025: A Bold Tribute to Black Dandyism
Myha’la Herrold made a striking debut at the 2025 Met Gala, embracing the theme "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" with a custom ensemble by Luar's Raul Lopez. The outfit featured a sculptural gray moiré mini dress with exaggerated shoulders and a voluminous silhouette, paying homage to Black dandyism and 16th-century Black saints.
Complementing the avant-garde dress, Herrold wore thigh-high, lace-up Timberland boots in the signature wheat color, reimagined in moiré fabric. This fusion of streetwear and high fashion added a contemporary edge to the historical inspiration.
Her accessories included bold, geometric earrings and a sleek, braided updo, enhancing the modern yet regal aesthetic. The makeup was kept minimal, allowing the intricate details of the ensemble to take center stage.
Her appearance at the Met Gala not only showcased her impeccable fashion sense but also her ability to interpret and embody the event's theme with creativity and grace, making her one of the standout attendees of the evening.
