Paloma Elsesser at Met Gala in New York 2026 Wearing Vestige Gown by Bureau of Imagination
Paloma Elsesser attended the 2026 Met Gala in New York City wearing the Vestige gown by Bureau of Imagination, a couture-inspired creation that transformed sustainability and fashion into wearable art. The dramatic red carpet look combined reconstructed vintage fabrics, hand-painted detailing, and sculptural elements to create one of the evening’s most artistic appearances.
The Vestige gown was crafted from more than 100 upcycled vintage garments that were carefully dismantled, reconstructed, and layered together into a flowing patchwork design. Across the fabric, hand-painted brushstrokes and metallic embroidery added texture and movement, turning the gown into a living canvas of color and craftsmanship. The silhouette flowed into a dramatic train covered in expressive painted detailing that created the illusion of artwork spreading across the floor behind her.
Francesco Risso’s design team enhanced the couture construction with beadwork and layered embellishments that gave the gown additional depth while preserving the artistic and sustainable concept. The combination of mixed fabrics, painted surfaces, and intricate embroidery allowed the look to feel both experimental and elegant within the Met Gala setting.
Paloma Elsesser completed the ensemble with custom jewelry by Bernard James, including a morganite ring and diamond necklace sourced through vintage-inspired selections that matched the sustainability concept behind the gown. One of the most memorable details was the sculptural ear-inspired accessory integrated into the styling, adding a surreal artistic element that transformed the overall appearance into a true conversation piece for the 2026 Met Gala red carpet.
